We're happy to announce: Gizmoz & DAZ 3D merge!

We are VERY excited to share some good news with you guys! Gizmoz  and DAZ 3D have joined forces to become one big happy company! As the leaders in 3D face detection, mapping and manipulation technology, merging with DAZ 3D (developers of renowned 3D software and highly supported 3D content) means forming a new company that will deliver a combination of the highest-quality personalized 3D digital characters, accessories and environments EVER assembled.

Going forward we will provide an online marketplace for high-quality digital 3D characters and accessories, allowing users to experience their digital goods and identities in the platform of their choice by combining ultra-realistic interoperable 3D characters and avatars with easy-to-use tools that are perfect for gamers, consumers and creative professionals. And of course, providing the opportunity for creativity well beyond what we’ve been able to achieve to date!!

Those of you who have been using the new HeadMaker probably already noticed some of the new high quality accessories that are offered there. That was a "first taste" of DAZ content and in the near future we plan on enhancing it with a lot more high quality stuff created by the DAZ 3D community.

New hairstyles!

In the last few weeks we’ve been receiving many requests from users to add more content to the head creation process. We’ve also noticed that when we add more accessories and other customization options, users spend much more time on the application, changing and trying everything that is available. It adds a “playful” side to the Gizmoz Studio and users seem to enjoy it as well as get creative and high quality characters.

The latest cool edition is the large selection of hairstyles that we’ve added. You can browse through the galleries inside the HeadMaker (after you create your head off course) and see the high-end male and female hairstyles. There is also a category called “Premium” which contains the hairstyles that will require payment however for limited time, we are offering it for free (for your to try it out and give us your feedback.)

NEW version of Gizmoz HeadMaker!

We've been working on many changes and improvements during the last
few month and we're absolutely thrilled to share it with you now!
The Gizmoz HeadMaker is now the ultimate online service for creating your personalized 3D talking head.
We have refined the user overall experience in many ways. The preview window is now much bigger so you can see the result in a larger size. We’ve added face transformations and facial morphs for you to be able to change yourself as well as play and have fun with. The morphs are basically 3D shapes
that allow you to transform your own head into other figures and
characters. It can be an animal shapes like the Chimp and a Tiger (my personal favorite!) or Aliens and daemons which are also very popular.
While playing with the HeadMaker and using the morphs you will soon discover that it’s pure fun and extremely high quality (Sometime very funny results can come out of it).

Another VERY cool feature we had developed is the ability to change age, race and gender. So if you want to see how you will look if you or your friends were a 60 years old Asian female or a 15 years old African male - the Gizmoz HeadMaker is the place to look!

When you’re done building your character you can share it and publish
it just like you could with every piece of content that was created
with Gizmoz. Recently we’ve added the ability to save it as a profile picture so it can be the perfect profile pic for your FaceBook or MySpace page.

Remember Your Vacation??!!

It’s only been a week since i got back from my vacation in NYC, but it feels like a year!  So – what to do when you’re missing those happy days on the beach? Make 3D slideshows and postcards featuring your vacation photos and videos, and of course, your Gizmoz avatar. 

There are two new templates to choose from - Postcards - to show off your videos and - Slideshows - to display your photos.  Both are really fun to create and let you play with recording your voice, changing text, accessorizing your character and more.

My Birthday's Coming...hint, hint

My Birthday's next Wednesday. So I've been thinking a lot about what you can get me :) Just in time, the hubby and i went to friends and met a guy who has a completely electric mini-cooper.  It cost him a gazillion dollars to convert it into an electric car - but he says it's worth it.  So what i'd really like for my birthday is an electric mini cooper! But since that's not gonna happen - i'd suffice with a greeting card from our totally fabulous new series of Gizmoz Greetings.  They're like e-cards on steroids, but prettier!

Being outside the US, one of the things i really miss is Hallmark.  I love picking out birthday cards for friends.  There are those funny ones with the old lady maxine, and the sappy ones that i know will make my dad cry - at this point, i'd even take one of those anne geddes cards that freak me out a bit.

A Tribute Befitting a King

Hi guys,

Sorry it's been a while since my last post - we've been working on so many new items in the Gizmoz Studio that i've been a busy bee.  I can't give away all of the secrets, but here is one of the cool new things that went up on the site this week:

Michael Jackson Tribute!

I was so totally bummed about MJ - his music was a huge part of my childhood and even though i missed his greatest years, i have the Thriller and Off the Wall albums and 'We are the World' seriously kills me it's so earnest and heartfelt.  So we've created a michael jackson character on the site for you to use in your videos.  Do the King of Pop proud and make a fitting tribute. Make sure to post it on your blogs and profiles - and send us the links! Check out the one i made here.

We have a Winner!

Congratulations to the "BUSTED! Worst of the Web" contest winners.

We challenged you to find the weirdest, wackiest, most insane videos on the Internet and you did!!
We had so many great entries, but taehasabackbone found the most INSANE video on the web - hands down! Let's just say two words of warning: "goat birth"!

Two honorary mentions go to coby11 and delaypat.
There were hundreds of contest participants in our first-ever contest.

Something DIFFERENT for Father's Day

Just a few days to go until Dad's Day and the debate between me and my sister over what to get him is not yet resolved!  The malls are filled with sales on neckties (no way), cologne/ aftershave sets (cheesy) and of course electronics (out of my budget, i work here remember).  As if the "great present debate" wasn't enough, the two of us can't even decide on a card to get him - since she likes the "all the things you mean to me" cards and I'm more inclined to the "who farted?" cards. 

So we agreed this year to do something TOTALLY DIFFERENT for Dad's day - a personalized Greeting Card made in the Gizmoz Studio!

It works like this:

1. Pick a Father's day scene (called a template)
2. Upload your dad's photo
3. Change text, voice, outfit and Save!

A couple of things you should know about my dad -

1. He totally thinks he's cool (who's dad doesn't?) so i dressed him up like James Bond, and
2. He's watched NO television in like 20 years, so he has absolutely no idea what's going on in the world. 

So - check out the card we made with just a photo of our dad:

Oh Man, That Sucks!
